Edo PDP Withdraws Campaign Council list

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has withdrawn its earlier published list of the Edo governorship election campaign council members.

The party said this in a statement signed by its spokesman, Debo Ologunagba, on Wednesday.

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @OfficialPDPNig clarifies that it has withdrawn the earlier published list of members of the Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council,” the statement said.

The party added, “Members of our party in Edo state and the nation should, therefore, disregard the earlier publication and await the updated list.

“All leaders, critical stakeholders, members of our party and the general public should take note accordingly.”

Recall that on May 3, the PDP inaugurated a 363-member campaign council, with Governor Goodwin Obaseki describing the Legacy Group as disorganised, ahead of the September 21 gubernatorial election in Edo State.

The Legacy group, headed by the party vice chairman, South-South, Dan Orbih, had vowed not to work with Obaseki and the party’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo, unless their grievances were looked into.

The group stated that they were being treated unfairly by Obaseki despite aiding his move to PDP in 2020 and ensuring that he won the second term.
