DSS Arrests Notorious Illegal Checkpoint Operator In Benue State

Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) in Benue State have apprehended Orih Joseph, a notorious individual known for operating illegal checkpoints in the Southern senatorial district of Benue State.

Joseph, alleged to be the mastermind behind the illicit checkpoints, was captured following extensive efforts to dismantle his criminal activities and his gang.

Jacinta Bernard, the Media Assistant to the Acting Executive Chairman of the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), released a statement detailing Joseph’s arrest. Emmanuel Agema, the Acting Executive Chairman of BIRS, commended the DSS operatives for their successful operation in apprehending Joseph.

Agema stressed the significance of Joseph’s arrest in the ongoing campaign to eradicate illegal checkpoints and fraudulent revenue activities in the state. He pledged full support from BIRS to law enforcement agencies in capturing other members of Joseph’s gang and eliminating similar clandestine operations across the region.

Bernard confirmed that Joseph would face prosecution in due course, marking a step forward in the fight against illegal activities impacting revenue collection.
