Old video of Ganduje Mocking Sanusi Sparks Reactions

An old video of former Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje mocking Muhammad Sanusi II has sparked reactions online. 

The video reemerged on the same day the Kano state house of assembly abolished five emirates and dethroned five emirs on Thursday.

The trending video captuted Ganduje jesting about how he dethroned Sanusi as Emir of Kano by applying the “medicine” of former president, Goodluck Jonathan. 

He added the he administered the Jonathan medicine on Sanusi effectively to save the system and the institution. 

In Ganduje’s words: “When I became the governor, that is why you will laugh. I said Yes, Jonathan’s medicine. “Is an important medicine, even though am not a medical doctor, that medicine will serve the same purpose, of the same disease and of the same patient. 

“So I took my Jonathan medicine and decided to save the system, save the institution and applied it effectively. 

“And Jonathan, we are on the same page. I’m sure you have no regrets. I too have no regret.”

The old video quickly sparked reactions from netizens on X. While some are of the opinion that Sanusi caused his dethronement, others expressed disappointment over Ganduje’s statements. Another section of netizens expressed excitement over the Emir’s reinstatement.
