Anxiety has permeated the social space ahead of the commencement of the nationwide strike called by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) with effect from Monday, June 3, 2024.

Recall that the Attorney General of the Federation on Sunday also warned that striking is illegal in Nigeria and could attract a six-month-jail term.

This has made Nigerians to speculate on whether the strike will truly hold through or not. Some have expressed fears of losing their jobs if they do not report to work today because of the strike.

Others have expressed distrust in the organized labor to hold their ground because of previous experiences.

Yet another section of netizens are highly hopeful that organized labor will maintain their ground until the Federal Government increases the minimum wage.
