Prominent activist Aisha Yesufu has voiced her criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration regarding the unveiling of the Vice President’s lodge.

Aisha Yesufu argued that the lodge exemplifies the administration’s proficiency in electoral manipulation rather than effective governance.

She questioned the expenditure of N21 billion on the building, pointing out the absence of proper landscaping design.

Sharing her views on X, the Labour Party (LP) leader described the lodge as poorly constructed and a testament to the administration’s incompetence.

She wrote: “The incompetence is so glaring, even to themselves. How do you accept this shabby lawn?

“The N21 billion was not enough to cover landscaping? How do you come out of your house and the front is looking like a kids’ abandoned football field? Rigging is the only thing they know how to focus on.”

On Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated the Vice President’s lodge.

Tinubu stated that providing a proper residence for the Vice President reflects respect for both the office and its occupant.

Through Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented him, Tinubu stated that this initiative goes beyond convenience. It demonstrates the administration’s dedication to equipping leaders with the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively and serve the Nigerian people with integrity and dedication.

He also noted that the Vice President’s residence project had encountered several challenges, including delays and neglect by previous administrations.

He said, “Rather than dwell on past shortcomings, we have chosen to seize this opportunity to demonstrate our resolve to confront obstacles head-on and deliver on the promises made to the Nigerian people in line with our Renewed Hope Agenda, which has the completion of inherited projects as one of its cardinal objectives.”
