Court adjourns suit against Bayero, others

The Kano State High Court has adjourned a suit seeking to stop the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and four others from parading themselves as emirs till July 2, 2024

The suit against Bayero and the others, was initiated to stop them from parading themselves as Emirs in Kano state.

GWG.ng reports that the state high court proceeding was presided over by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu on Monday.

Recall that the High Court fixed June 24, 2024, for hearing a motion on notice seeking to restrain the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero and four others as emirs of Kano.

However, Justice Aliyu adjourned the matter after listening to arguments from both applicants on whether the applicants had been served with the order.

The applicants in the matter are the attorney-general of Kano State, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and the Kano State House of Assembly. The applicants through their counsel Ibrahim Isah-Wangida Esq, filed a motion ex-parte dated May 27.

The respondents are Alhaji Ado-Bayero, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero (Bichi), Dr Ibrahim Abubakar ll (Karaye), Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad-Inuwa (Rano), and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya (Gaya).

Others are the inspector-general of police (IGP), the director of the Department of Security Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigerian Army.
