2027: Patience Jonathan States Position On Alleged Plot To Draft Husband Against Tinubu (Video)
In an unpretentious dismissal of new political permutations projecting her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan as a possible challenger to President Bola Tinubu, Mrs Patience Jonathan has vowed not to return to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa as First Lady.
Patience Jonathan spoke in a candid moment at a public function on Friday, June 28 as she expressed her reluctance to return to Aso Rock, citing the immense stress that comes with being in the highest echelons of power in Nigeria.
Mrs. Jonathan emphatically said, “If you call me now for villa, I wouldn’t go there. I won’t. Don’t you see how young I am? The stress is so much. The stress of Nigeria is so much.”
She continued, “If God manages to bring you out of it, you should glorify God and thank Him for His doing, because it is marvelous in His eyes. He has taken you there once, why do you want to go there again? Me, I won’t go oo!!!”

GWG.ng reports that Patience Jonathan and her family vacated the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in 2015 after President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure ended, and President Muhammadu Buhari took office. Patience Jonathan’s remarks offer a rare glimpse into the challenges and pressures that come with being part of Nigeria’s political elite.
Her assertion flies against the projections of some political pundits who have recently been flying the rumours of Jonathan pairing Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso or some other Northern political actor to fight off a second term for President Tinubu.
Her words also reflect a sense of gratitude and humility, acknowledging the blessings and mercies received during their time in office. By embracing a simpler life and shunning the allure of power, Patience Jonathan sets an inspiring example for others to prioritize their well-being and seek a more peaceful path.
