Chima Crowned Winner of Nigerian Idol Season 9

Nigerian singer Chima triumphed in the thrilling finale of the ninth season of Nigerian Idol held on Sunday, emerging as the winner over fellow finalists Lammy and Chioma.

Chima’s victory earned him an impressive grand prize package, including N30 million, an SUV, a record deal, and a professional video shoot.

During the final performances, Chioma captivated the audience with her renditions of Jodie’s “Kuchi Kuchi” and Jennifer Hudson’s “One Night Only.” Chima wowed the judges with soulful versions of Dare Art Alade’s “Not the Girl” and Stevie Wonder’s “As,” showcasing his exceptional vocal talent. Lammy also delivered heartfelt performances, singing 2Baba’s “African Queen” and Alexandra Burke’s “Hallelujah,” which received thunderous applause from the audience.

The grand finale was a star-studded event, featuring performances by Simi, Chike, Progress, and Victory Gbakara. Judge Omawumi also took to the stage for a special thank-you performance alongside evicted contestants.

The “Dare to Dream” edition of Nigerian Idol, hosted by IK Osakioduwa and judged by 9ice, Omawumi, and Ric Hassani, aired live for eight weeks, culminating in Chima’s well-deserved victory.
