A Nigerian man has decided against traveling to Dubai after discovering the high cost of obtaining a one-month visa. Following the recent lifting of the travel ban on Nigerians by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the man found that the visa fee amounted to N688,000, which he deemed exorbitant and non-refundable.

Expressing his frustration, the man took to social media to share his decision. He wrote, “Habibi, I am not coming to Dubai, please 😭😭😭 Even Schengen visa fee no cost like this abeg.”

He further lamented, “Lmao! 688k for one-month visa and you no even sure say you go get am 😭😭. Which angel send me come this country? 😭😭😭”

GWG.ng reports that his comments have struck a chord with many Nigerians who are also considering travel plans in light of the recent policy change. The high visa fee, coupled with the uncertainty of approval, has made the prospect of visiting Dubai less appealing for some.

The UAE’s decision to lift the travel ban on Nigerians was welcomed by many, but the steep visa fees may pose a significant hurdle for potential travelers. The cost and non-refundable nature of the visa fee have raised concerns about the accessibility of travel to Dubai for many Nigerians.
