Nationwide Protest

Angry protesters in Edo State have taken their frustration to the streets, destroying a massive APC governorship campaign billboard on a flyover along the highway.

The demonstrators, who were seen vandalizing the billboard, expressed their discontent with the government’s failure to address their grievances.

The protesters’ actions were accompanied by chants of “We dey protest, then dey campaign, una no dey feel our pain?” which translates to “We are protesting, but you are campaigning, don’t you feel our pain?” This phrase highlights the perceived insensitivity of politicians to the suffering of the people.

The destroyed billboard, which was promoting the APC’s governorship candidate, symbolizes the protesters’ rejection of the party’s promises and their demand for tangible solutions to the state’s problems. This incident is the latest in a series of protests sweeping across the country, as Nigerians call for better governance and an end to bad leadership.

GWG.ng reports that the action of the protesters in Edo State came in the wake of the intensifying campaign by the three major political parties in the state viz: the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the APC and Labour Party to produce a successor to Governor Godwin Obaseki.
