Concerns Arise Over PDP’s Inclusion of President Tinubu’s Allies in Committees
The inclusion of known apologists of President Bola Tinubu in the disciplinary and reconciliation committees constituted by the PDP is raising concern in the polity
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated disciplinary and reconciliation committees to address issues of misconduct and internal wranglings with allies of the All Progressives Congress, APC inspired president of the country, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in driving roles.
GWG.ng reports that the committee on reconciliation is led by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola while the disciplinary committee is led by Chief Tom Ikimi.
The two committees were inaugurated by the acting national chairman of the PDP, Ambassador Umar Damagun but with reservations from party activists of the inclusion of known supporters of President Tinubu.
See list of the two committees.
GWG.ng reports that in the two PDP committees have a number of political actors who have in the recent past championed the interests of the APC Tinubu administration who are also notably allies of FCT minister, Nyesom Wike.
Erstwhile deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Prince Chibudom Nwuche who is listed as number two in the reconciliation committee was reported by Vanguard to have hosted political actors in June to drum support for President Bola Tinubu. Read here.
Commenting on the development, political analyst, Chuks Akunna tweeted thus:
Senator Olaka Nwogu who is also another known ally of Wike was also named in the Disciplinary Committee.
Nwogu who is a bitter foe of Governor Siminilayi Fubara of Rivers State was reported by the Daily Post last May to have rebuked the governor for supposedly disrespecting President Tinubu. Read here.
Commenting on the development, a political analyst said “So you expect Senator Olaka Nwogu not to discipline Fubara?”

As long as Wike and Bode George are members of the pdp, you guys aren’t ready yet for any serious election in Nigeria.

Chibudom Nwuche is a wrong candidate for reconciliation. It is not a secret that he is a Wike’s stooge. Bode George should be on retirement. He can not discipline himself and so can not discipline any other person.

Bode George as a member of disciplinary committee? He should be disciplined also for anti-party activities.
