Obasanjo Sparks Laughter Over His Height In Kenya (Video)

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, recently brought humor to an event in Kenya, where he subtly addressed an assumption about his height.

In a video that has been making rounds on social media, Obasanjo was called to the podium to deliver a speech and an official at the event apparently considering what he perceived as the former president’s height brought forward a small stool for him to stand on and give his address.

As he approached the stage, a Kenyan official placed a stool where Obasanjo was expected to stand, likely to help him read more comfortably from the podium. However, upon reaching the podium, Obasanjo moved the stool aside and humorously remarked, “I am not as short as you think I am.” His comment instantly lightened the atmosphere, prompting laughter from the audience.

The moment, which was captured on video, has since gone viral, with many sharing the clip and praising Obasanjo for making humour out of his height. The light-hearted interaction showcased the former president’s ability to engage with his audience and defuse any tension with a simple, yet effective, joke.

The point of Obasanjo making joke out of his height came as news emerged that President Bola Tinubu will depart for Beijing, China, in the first week of September, during which he will sign several MOUs with President Xi Jinping, his Chinese counterpart.

The President’s Spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said this while briefing State House correspondents on Tuesday.

He said the President would also visit two major Chinese corporations, Huawei Technologies, as well as the China Railway and Construction Corporation (CRCC).

“This is with a view to achieve one of Mr President’s top agenda items, which is the completion of the Ibadan-to-Abuja segment of the Lagos-Kano high-speed rail line,” said Ngelale.
