This action follows claims made by social media activist and influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, that Bobrisky bribed EFCC officials with ₦15,000,000 to dismiss money laundering charges against him.

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has initiated an immediate investigation into allegations of bribery involving some of the Commission’s officers and popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky.

This action follows claims made by social media activist and influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, that Bobrisky bribed EFCC officials with ₦15,000,000 to dismiss money laundering charges against him. Additionally, VeryDarkMan alleged that Bobrisky was allowed to serve his jail term in a private apartment rather than a regular prison as a result of the bribe.

The allegations were made in a viral video that has been widely shared across various social media platforms.

In response, the EFCC Chairman, in a statement released on Tuesday by the agency’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that a team of investigators had been assembled to look into the matter. The Commission also extended an invitation to both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan to appear at its Lagos office for questioning to assist in the investigation.

The EFCC assured the public that the matter will be thoroughly investigated, and any officers found guilty will face legal consequences. The Commission also reaffirmed its dedication to its core values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and collaboration.

Recall that Bobrisky was released from prison on August 5 after completing a six-month sentence for naira note abuse, issued by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 12, 2024.
