Dele Momodu Uses Old Wike Video Taunting Amaechi To Mock FCT Minister

Media mogul Dele Momodu has weighed in on the escalating conflict between Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, labeling Wike’s actions as hypocritical.

In a social media post, Dele Momodu shared an old video of Wike rebuking his former boss, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, during a national TV interview, accusing him of abusing power and causing problems for the state. Momodu used the clip to highlight the irony of Wike’s current feud with Fubara, a governor who succeeded him in Rivers State.

In the video, Wike harshly criticized Amaechi for “forming too big” and creating turmoil in the state government. He emphasized that life should not be centered solely around power, warning that the abuse of authority can have catastrophic consequences and potentially endanger democracy itself. Momodu, referencing Wike’s previous remarks, expressed his disbelief at Wike’s apparent reversal of values in his dealings with Governor Fubara.

The caption of Dele Momodu referencing Wike read thus, “A lot of people cannot understand or appreciate why we caution our friends not to abuse power, but the reason is simple: the repercussion of tyranny is usually catastrophic and may even endanger our hard-earned democracy. Life should never be about power only. Here was Governor Nyesom Wike rebuking his former boss, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi… This is why we find his fight against Governor Sim Fubara very bizarre.”

The media veteran went on to clarify that, despite having no personal relationship with Fubara, the current Rivers State governor deserves public sympathy in the face of Wike’s actions. Many have found Wike’s treatment of Fubara baffling, given his previous stance against Amaechi’s perceived overreach while in office.

Wike’s ongoing conflict with Fubara has been a topic of public debate, with many questioning the motivations behind the rift between the two prominent figures in Rivers politics.

This latest development adds another layer of complexity to Wike’s evolving political persona, as observers watch closely to see how the feud with Governor Fubara will unfold and what it may mean for Rivers State’s political landscape.
