Nigerians Jeer, Cheer As Wike’s Disciples ‘Form Church’ To Outwit Fubara
A video of some political disciples of Nyesom Wike in an uncompleted building singing and praising God has got many Nigerians talking
Nigerians were reacting with mockery on Wednesday after a video of some Rivers State disciples of Nyesom Wike, the powerful minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT emerged singing worship songs after their seeming defeat in the game of wits with Governor Siminalayi Fubara last weekend.
The Wike disciples comprising some former local government chairmen who were recently eased from office after the failed attempt at tenure extension were captured in an uncompleted building singing worship songs to God Almighty.
Among those conspicuously seen in the video was Sam Nwanosike, a former chairman of Ikwere Local Government Area, who while still in office last May called Governor Fubara “Mumu and very foolish governor.”
The time of the worship service involving the Wike disciples was not immediately known but many Twitter users were quick to assert that the timing was after last weekend’s battle of wits between them and Fubara over the conduct of the local government election.
Of interest to some was the attendance of green beer bottles, a sight that was not lost on many X users who used it to doubt the sincerity of the worship session by the Wike disciples.
GWG.ng reports that Wike had on Tuesday gone on television to publicly exonerate himself from the mayhem that followed the local government election that was boycotted by the mainstream of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC that are under his control.
He had accused Governor Fubara of breaching the law and selecting court orders to obey.
The resort of the Wike disciples to worship has been met with different reactions.
GWG.ng gathered some of the reactions:

Jobless people , they can’t do without politics, why not go back to your various businesses after your tenure is over.
Wisdom @wizleey
After committing evil they run back to God. God is really wonderful.

Chai, chai, see frustration! Honestly, opposition is not easy at all. Few months back Nwanosike was all over the place claiming to be what he wasn’t. Now, the same man is holding prayer sessions. Fubara has really taught them lessons.

Power is indeed transient. From conference rooms, bulletproof jeeps, and police escorts to open shanties without ceiling . I remember that video where that guy said opposition work is not easy. They should brace up for the next 8 years.

After this godly song, I hope all their decisions will be legal, righteous and supportive of the stability, growth and development of Rivers State
