Liverpool Chelsea 2-1

Liverpool secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah and Curtis Jones finding the net.

The match showcased a dynamic performance from both teams, with Liverpool maintaining their strong position in the Premier League.

The first half saw Liverpool take the lead when Mohamed Salah converted a penalty in the 29th minute. Salah’s calm left-footed shot went straight into the center of the goal after Curtis Jones was fouled in the box by Chelsea’s Levi Colwill. Chelsea struggled to respond, and Liverpool held onto their 1-0 advantage as the half ended.

In the second half, Chelsea equalized quickly. Nicolas Jackson scored in the 48th minute with a precise shot from the center of the box, assisted by Moisés Caicedo. However, Liverpool responded just three minutes later. Curtis Jones scored in the 51st minute with a close-range shot after a cross from Salah, bringing the score to 2-1.

The remainder of the match saw both teams creating chances. Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku and Renato Veiga attempted to level the score but were unable to find the back of the net. Liverpool’s defense held firm, and despite some late pressure from Chelsea, they managed to secure the win.

The match ended with Liverpool taking all three points, improving their record to 7 wins and 1 loss in the league. Chelsea, now with 4 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses, will need to regroup after this defeat.

The victory keeps Liverpool firmly in contention as they aim for the Premier League title this season.
