Nigeria U-20 Team Gets N5m Boost From Wilfred Ndidi
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has generously donated 5 million naira to Nigeria’s Under-20 national football team, the Flying Eagles.
This gift came after the team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Cote d’Ivoire in the WAFU B Under-20 Championship on Thursday.
This important win highlighted the skill and determination of the young Nigerian players and ensured their spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Along with Ndidi’s generous donation, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau also supported the team by contributing 2 million naira to acknowledge their impressive performance against the Ivorians.
The Flying Eagles, led by head coach Aliyu Zubairu, are now preparing to face the Niger Republic in a key semi-final match. This match was originally set for Saturday at the Stade Municipal in Lome but has been moved to Sunday evening with a new kickoff time of 7 PM. This change provides the team with extra time to prepare for what is expected to be a tough game.
If Nigeria wins against the Niger Republic, they will not only advance to the finals but also secure a place in the 2025 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations, which will take place in South Africa.
