A Nigerian woman, known on TikTok as @akankedainty, shared a surprising story about an emotional moment during her pregnancy.

When she went into labor, she gave her husband the passwords to all her bank accounts, including Zenith Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), and United Bank for Africa (UBA). Her reason was simple: she feared that she might not survive and didn’t want her money locked away in the banks.

The Reason Behind Her Decision

In her TikTok video, @akankedainty explained her deep concern during labor. She thought she might not make it through childbirth and wanted to ensure her husband could access her finances if anything happened to her. This gesture highlighted her trust in him.

Husband’s Response to Her Action

“Just be patient, dear. I love you so much. I can’t wait to carry my baby and cuddle my wife. I am feeling your pain. I am so sorry, Ife. Promise me that you will be strong, and you know I can do anything for you,” read his heartfelt messages.

One TikTok user, Nayomi: “My siblings know my passwords, but not my husband.”

Another user, nkechielizzy_, shared a similar experience: “During my surgery, I begged my husband to take all my passwords because I handle the finances at home. He refused, so I wrote them down in my notes for him.”

User7639206912685: “I did the exact same thing before labor. I wrote it in my diary and told my 13-year-old daughter about it.”

i_am_abikeade~ACA~ ACTI humorously recounted, “It’s not funny, but when my water broke and I was going to the hospital, I wrote all my account details and passwords on a piece of paper, even marking the accounts with ATM cards.”

One commenter, ANONYMOUS: “Since my last serious illness, I gave all my passwords to my wife. She already knew my bank details, but now she also has my crypto and other wallet passwords.”

However, not everyone agreed. RACY MARSHAL firmly stated, “It can’t be me. No matter how painful the labor is, I can’t give out my password.”
