Iyabo Ojo Hits Back At Mohbad Death Accusations

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has opened up about the accusations she faced following the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

During an appearance on the “Glass House” podcast with comedian AY, she revealed that some people wrongly blamed her for Mohbad’s passing.

According to Iyabo Ojo, she was accused of using the singer’s death for personal gain, with some even suggesting that she might have been responsible for his death. She clarified, “They were even insinuating that maybe I killed Mohbad. I wasn’t around when Mohbad died. I was not close to him. I didn’t really know him that much.”

She went on to explain that her only interaction with Mohbad was brief, during the One Africa Music Fest. “For the few days that we were together, I just knew that he was a cool boy, had his own thing he was going through and doing his music,” she said.

Iyabo Ojo also addressed the rumors that she was only pushing for justice to gain publicity. “If I killed him, then why was I fighting for his body to be exhumed for autopsy?” she asked. She further explained that some people even suggested she was paid for her activism or was seeking a political position. “They also said I was looking for a political position. They even said I was using it for clout,” she added.

Despite the accusations, Iyabo Ojo made it clear that her intentions were purely to help seek justice for the late singer. “There are so many things that have been said about me. But I am not bothered because that isn’t the case. All I did was just to help seek justice for the late singer,” she concluded.
