Galatasaray Shed More Light On Osimhen’s Contract
Galatasaray’s technical director, Okan Buruk, has shed light on the specifics of Victor Osimhen’s loan contract from Napoli.
In an interview published on the Turkish champions’ official website, Buruk confirmed that Osimhen’s agreement includes a clause that could impact the player’s future during the upcoming January transfer window.
Buruk elaborated that this clause allows Osimhen to consider offers from interested clubs during the January period. However, he emphasized that despite the existence of this provision, Osimhen’s preference is to stay with Galatasaray until the end of the current season. “Osimhen wants to remain here until the season ends, and he has consistently said this. While there is a clause regarding January transfers, it is ultimately the player’s decision, and he feels committed to staying,” Buruk explained.
Discussing the process that led to Osimhen’s move, Buruk recounted, “I travelled to Milan when I had the chance. Having lived there for three years, I feel comfortable there. During my visit, we didn’t discuss football; instead, we enjoyed dinner together over two days, which helped foster a good relationship. After a match against Adana Demirspor, we had a video call at the airport to discuss the possibilities, and after careful deliberation with our transfer committee and the president, we completed the transfer.”
Victor Osimhen joined Galatasaray on the final day of the summer transfer window after prior negotiations with Chelsea and Al Ahly fell through.
The forward has adapted well to his new club, making an immediate impact with eight goals and four assists in just nine matches across various competitions.
