The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has announced the immediate dissolution of the Local Government Service Commission. This decision aims to improve transparency and efficiency in the public service sector.

Fred Itua, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, explained in a statement on Monday that the move was part of ongoing reforms to streamline government operations and enhance the performance of public institutions in the state.

Governor Okpebholo assured the people of Edo State and the Commission’s staff that this change would not disrupt the ongoing activities of the Commission.

“This step is necessary to revamp our Local Government Service Commission and make it more effective,” the Governor said. “Our goal is to eliminate inefficiencies and create a structure that delivers better services to the people.”

He further emphasized the government’s dedication to providing transparent and effective public services. “Edo State Government remains committed to ensuring that the benefits of democracy reach our people,” he added.

The Governor also pledged to work with stakeholders to create a detailed plan for restructuring the Commission. Updates on the changes will be shared as they unfold.
