The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given a deadline for all licensed telecom operators to update their contact details by January 9, 2025.

This update aims to help the NCC improve its oversight and communication with telecom companies.

According to Reuben Mouka, the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, operators must inform the NCC about any changes to their contact information within seven days. Updates should be made using the NCC’s eServices platform at https://eservices.ncc.gov.ng.

The NCC requires updates on several details, including the business address (with postal codes and coordinates), mailing addresses, active email contacts, updated phone numbers, and details of key personnel handling regulatory and operational matters.

The NCC has warned that failing to update this information on time could result in fines, suspension, or even loss of licenses. While penalties haven’t been specified, the NCC made it clear that accurate contact info is important for smooth communication and quick responses to industry developments.

This initiative is part of the NCC’s effort to improve its regulatory framework and oversight of Nigeria’s telecom sector. The eServices platform is designed to make the updating process secure and easy for licensees.

The NCC urged telecom companies to comply promptly to avoid any disruptions. They stressed that having up-to-date contact information is key to maintaining transparency, trust, and the growth of the telecom industry. The deadline is approaching, so licensees should act quickly to meet the requirements.
