The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has clarified that the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) is yet to commence bulk sales or open its purchase portal, as critical operational processes are still being finalized.

In a statement issued on November 29 by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, the corporation emphasized that products currently available for sale are sourced exclusively from the Dangote Refinery. These products include applicable fees from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

“Products from PHRC are currently designated solely for our retail outlets,” Soneye stated. He further noted that the NNPC periodically reviews its pricing to align with operational realities but stressed that any adjustments will be communicated through official channels.

Soneye advised the public to disregard misleading information circulating about pricing changes, reiterating that official announcements would be made should there be any updates.

This clarification aims to address growing speculation surrounding the availability and pricing of products from the Port Harcourt Refinery, which has been under significant public and industry scrutiny due to its ongoing rehabilitation.

NNPC urged customers and stakeholders to remain patient as the corporation continues to finalize operational processes, ensuring the seamless integration of PHRC into Nigeria’s fuel supply chain.
