Igbo Unity Is Key To Creating Anioma – Ned Nwoko
Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North has emphasized that the call for the creation of Anioma State is rooted in justice and equity, rather than mere political ambitions.
He explained that establishing Anioma State would strengthen the Igbo community’s push for fair representation at the federal level.
Speaking during the 2024 OTU Oka-Iwu Week, Nwoko highlighted the importance of unity among the Igbo people. He stressed that regional challenges—social, economic, and political—must be addressed collectively.
Nwoko expressed concern about the current political structure, stating it does not adequately cater to the specific needs of the region. “The Igbo people must come together to achieve their collective aspirations. Unity is not an option; it is a necessity,” he said.
He further asserted, “The creation of Anioma State is not merely a political agenda—it is a demand for justice and equity. Anioma deserves a platform to articulate its aspirations and contribute to the broader Igbo quest for balanced representation.”
