Old Seminarians Cheer As Colleagues Get Top Jobs In Senate, Ohanaeze
THE Old Seminarians Association of Nigeria, OSAN, has felicitated with its President, Chinedu Akubueze and two other of its members for their recent appointments.
Akubueze, who is the leader of the Old Seminarians retired four days ago as the Clerk of the Senate after reaching 60 years based on the civil service rule and was appointed Chief of Staff to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Another OSAN member, Nwoba Andrew Ogbonna, was appointed the new Clerk of the Senate, while another member of the association and seasoned politician, Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu at the weekend emerged as the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of OSAN, Comrade Johnbosco Agbakwuru, said the elevations in quick succession was a testament of the calibre and pedigree of those who passed through the Catholic Seminary formations.
The OSAN PRO noted that the appointments of the three members were the result of their excellent performances and their impeccable characters in their previous positions.
According to the statement from the old Seminarians: “Our President, Barrister Chinedu Francis Akubueze is a man of honour and impeccable character. He is a gentleman, who distinguished himself since he emerged as the Clerk of the Senate some years ago.
“We thank the President of the Senate, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio for finding him worthy to serve as his Chief of Staff. We have no doubt that Barrister Akubueze will discharge his work creditably.
“It is to the glory of God that after an OSAN member and its President retired as the Clerk of the Senate, another of her distinguished members, Andrew Nwoba, was appointed as the new Clerk of the Red Chamber. This tells you the quality of members of the association.”
On the recent appointment of Nze Ozichukwu Chukwu as the President of the Igbo apex socio-cultural organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo, to serve out the turn of Imo state before the election next year, OSAN commended those behind the choice for their foresight, describing Ozichukwu Chukwu as a forthright man that will bring more dignity and respect to the Igbo apex socio-cultural organisation.
“Nze Ozichukwu Chukwu is a seasoned politician that has held sensitive positions at various times. His appointment is a testament to putting a square peg in a square hole. He delivers on any assignment given to him and he is going to restore confidence in the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
“OSAN is very proud of three of her distinguished members and we pray that the Almighty God will continue to guide and direct them as they discharge their responsibilities. The elevations are a clear indication of what is coming ahead and the country will stand to gain from these right choices made”, Agbakwuru added.
