Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has experienced a remarkable surge in his market value, which is now estimated at €55 million.

The €15 million increase places him ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, valued at €45 million, and makes Lookman Nigeria’s second most valuable player after Victor Osimhen, who is worth €75 million.

Lookman’s exceptional performances in Europe and in Nigeria’s national team earned him the prestigious 2024 CAF Player of the Year award. He beat strong contenders, including Simon Adingra of Ivory Coast, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, and Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy. He was also ranked 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or standings.

The 27-year-old winger has become one of Nigeria’s most prominent football stars over the past two seasons. By the end of 2023, his market value stood at €30 million. However, an extraordinary year of achievements saw his value rise by €25 million, marking an 83.33% increase.

In June 2024, Lookman delivered a stellar performance in the UEFA Europa League final, scoring a hat-trick in Atalanta’s 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen to secure the club’s first European title. This remarkable feat boosted his valuation to €40 million.

Jatin Dietl, Italy Area Manager for Transfermarkt, commented, “Lookman capped off his impressive 2024 with the African Ballon d’Or, and rightly so. He has been in exceptional form, playing a pivotal role in Atalanta’s success and leading the club to its first international title.”

Lookman’s success has drawn attention from major European clubs such as PSG, Arsenal, and Liverpool, which expressed interest in signing him last summer. Despite this interest, Atalanta remains determined to retain him. Club President Antonio Percassi reaffirmed this commitment, stating, “Our plan is not to change anything in the January window.”
