Actress Kiitan Bukola Opens Up About Marriage Fears
Yoruba actress Kiitan Bukola has spoken openly about her fears of marriage and her desire to create a loving and stable home for her future children.
In an interview on Biola Adebayo’s YouTube podcast, ‘Talk to B’, she reflected on her childhood and how her upbringing has influenced her views on relationships and family life.
Kiitan shared that she never experienced the love and care of a father. “I don’t have a father who cared the way I wanted,” she said. “I didn’t enjoy the love of father to mother together, and it hurts me a lot.” She revealed that she never lived with both parents and mentioned that her father has many children, some of whom she doesn’t even know.
The actress explained that her fear of marriage comes from witnessing both good and bad examples around her. “I have friends who have been through a lot in their marriages, and I have some that have enjoyed it,” she said. Kiitan emphasized her desire to avoid having children outside of marriage, as she wants her kids to grow up in a stable environment with fatherly care.
“I love marriage, but I’m scared of it at the same time,” she admitted. “I don’t want my children to grow up without fatherly care or in a separate home. My ideal man is someone understanding, prayerful, and who knows the difference between my job and our home.”
She also spoke about past experiences that shaped her expectations in a partner. “I once dated someone who would tell me to return money for a job on a day I was supposed to go to set. I don’t want stress. I want someone I can call my best friend.”
Kiitan’s candid revelations highlight her deep desire to build a family grounded in love, support, and stability, while also navigating her fears and past experiences.
