Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team delivered an emphatic performance on Saturday night, defeating Ghana 3-1 to secure their spot at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The thrilling encounter between the Super Eagles and the Ghana team took place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Sodiq Ismail set the tone for the victory with a clinical finish in the 18th minute, giving the super eagles an early lead. Just three minutes later, Nduka doubled the advantage, calmly slotting the ball into the net from inside the box to leave the Ghanaian defense stunned.

The momentum continued in the second half as Rangers winger Isaac Saviour capitalized on a defensive blunder by Ghana to fire in Nigeria’s third goal, cementing the home team’s dominance.

Despite Nigeria’s commanding performance, Ghana managed a consolation goal through substitute Amankona Stephen, who found the back of the net 18 minutes before the final whistle.

The win marks a significant achievement for Nigeria, guaranteeing their place in the continental tournament and delivering a morale boost ahead of the competition. Fans in Uyo celebrated the victory, hailing the team’s spirited display against their arch-rivals.

With CHAN 2024 on the horizon, expectations are high as the Super Eagles B prepare to represent Nigeria on the African stage.
