Nigerian Sex Worker And Mother Of Two Stabs Barman To Death
By Benjamin Abioye
A 32-year-old sex worker, Riyanatu Musa, was arrested by the Adamawa State Police for allegedly stabbing a barman to death during a disagreement over a N200 balance on liquor.
The incident occurred in Mubi South Local Government Area, where Musa killed Yohanna Musa after a quarrel.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed that the suspect confessed to the crime while being questioned. Riyanatu explained that she had taken a bottle of dry gin, known as “Big Ben,” and another drink from the victim. She promised to pay the balance the following day but had paid N1,500, leaving a N200 debt.
The argument escalated when the barman demanded the remaining balance, and during the dispute, Riyanatu stabbed him in the chest, resulting in his death. Riyanatu, who is a mother of two, admitted to drinking alcohol but denied drinking beer on the day of the incident. She expressed regret for her actions.
SP Nguroje stated that the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter and urged the public not to take matters into their own hands.
