Why We Arrested Edo TikToker- Police (Video)

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a popular TikToker, Destiny Ekhorutomuen, for allegedly spreading false and provocative content aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the police and inciting public unrest.
According to a statement by the Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the 38-year-old TikToker was taken into custody by operatives from the National Cyber Crime Centre in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State.
“On December 8, 2024, Destiny Ekhorutomuen, a TikToker was apprehended for allegedly creating multiple social media accounts to disseminate misleading and inciting materials designed to provoke the public against the Nigeria Police,” the statement read.
The police reiterated the need for responsible use of social media, emphasizing that citizens must exercise caution in sharing information to safeguard the nation’s peace and unity.

Authorities have urged the public to verify facts and avoid sensationalism to prevent misinformation and unnecessary tension.
