Boko Haram terrorists have once again unleashed terror on Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, attacking Bamzir village in the early hours of Sunday, January 12, 2025.

The assault from the Boko Haram on Chibok claimed the lives of two brothers, Josiah Pogu Pudza, a secondary school student, and Enoch Pogu Pudza.

A statement from the media office of Chibok LGA Chairman, Mustapha Madu, confirmed the tragic event that came with the assault by the Boko Haram terrorists.

The terrorists injured another resident, Esther Yohanna, who sustained gunshot wounds. In their rampage, the Boko Haram set several houses, shops, and the EYN LCC church ablaze before looting food supplies and livestock.

The victims were laid to rest on Sunday morning, with the local government chairman present to pay his respects. He also toured the affected area, meeting with grieving families and assessing the extent of the damage caused by the violent attack.

This tragedy comes just days after Boko Haram insurgents attacked a military base in Borno, leaving six soldiers dead. Similarly, the group recently targeted a police station, resulting in the deaths of two officers.

Borno State remains the epicenter of Nigeria’s long-standing battle against insurgency. Despite continued military operations and government initiatives aimed at restoring peace, the region continues to face relentless threats from terrorist activities that have claimed countless lives and displaced thousands of people.
