Court Issues Arrest Warrant For Mercy Chinwo’s Manager
By Benjamin Abioye

A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an arrest warrant for Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the manager of popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
The order was granted by Justice Alexander Owoeye on Thursday after a motion was filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
During the court session, EFCC counsel Bilikisu Buhari said, “The arrest warrant is necessary to compel Onyedikachukwu’s appearance in court to face charges of alleged financial misconduct.” She also informed the court, “Failure to apprehend the manager would lead to the issuance of a public summons to declare him wanted.”
Justice Owoeye approved the application and set January 24 as the date for Onyedikachukwu’s arraignment.
The case arose from a petition submitted to the EFCC by Mercy Chinwo. In an affidavit presented by EFCC investigator Michael Idoko, the gospel singer alleged that her manager had withheld royalties from her digital platforms and events without proper disclosure.
The affidavit further stated that Onyedikachukwu had allegedly diverted $345,000 meant for Chinwo, prompting her to take legal action.
Court documents revealed that multiple attempts to apprehend Onyedikachukwu had failed. As a result, the EFCC sought an arrest warrant to ensure he appeared in court. The case against Mercy Chinwo’s former manager was then adjourned to January 24 for further proceedings.
