The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced key dates and registration schedule for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

According to JAMB’s Head of Media, Fabian Benjamin, the date for registration for UTME candidates will commence on January 20, 2024, and close on February 26, 2024. Meanwhile, Direct Entry registration will begin on January 28, 2025, and conclude on March 28, 2025.

Benjamin emphasized that over 1.5 million candidates are expected to register for the 2025 JAMB examinations and warned that there will be no extension of the registration deadlines. He urged prospective candidates to obtain their forms early to avoid last-minute rushes and challenges that may arise during late registration.

The JAMB also stated that adhering to the deadlines and dates for the UTME will allow for smooth planning of the 2025/2026 admission process across institutions.

Candidates are advised to prepare in advance, secure their National Identification Numbers (NIN), and ensure they use unique phone numbers that have not been previously registered with JAMB to generate their profile codes.

Meanwhile, besides the release of the key dates for the UTME, GWG.ng reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba as the new recommended text for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Use of English paper.

The endorsement of the novel marks a shift from the previously used The Life Changer, signaling JAMB’s commitment to introducing fresh, relatable content that reflects contemporary Nigerian society and promotes homegrown literature.
