I Am Fulfilled, OAP Do2dtun Bids Radio Farewell
By Benjamin Abioye

Veteran Nigerian on-air personality, OAP Dotun, popularly known as Do2dtun, has announced his departure from radio after 20 years of service.
Reflecting on his journey, Do2dtun shared on Instagram how he began as an intern in 2004 at Cool FM Lagos, starting from humble beginnings and working his way up to becoming a household name as an OAP.
“This must be one of the hardest decisions I have made. I am fulfilled in my heart that I built a legacy,” he wrote, reminiscing about his first day as an unprepared and inexperienced intern.
Do2dtun expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who supported and mentored him during his early days as an OAP, including Dan Foster, Olisa Adibua, and Daddy Freeze. “You were the first set of guys that gave me the little light to grow after GOD,” he said.
He also highlighted his contributions to transforming Nigerian radio by creating programs like “Cool Nigerian Vibe,” “Superstar Wednesday,” and “Office Concert,” which shifted the focus from foreign music to promoting Nigerian content. According to him, these innovations were a collective win for the industry.
Summing up his career as an OAP, Do2dtun described it as a mix of “the good, the bad, the awesome, and the ugly” but expressed pride in the legacy he is leaving behind.
