By Gideon Ayeni

The wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, Mrs. Folasade Odumosu, was held captive for over a week in a bush near her house in Arepo, Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State, according to confessions from her abductors.
The suspects, 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, revealed during interrogation that Mrs Folasade Odumosu was hidden in a dense area surrounded by palm trees, just behind her house, w they believed no one would discover her.
“We hid her behind her house, where there are many palm trees. If someone hides there, you can’t see them,” one of the suspects confessed.
The gang initially demanded a ransom of ₦40 million but later settled for ₦20 million, which was paid by the victim’s family. The suspects disclosed that each gang member received ₦4.25 million after the ransom was shared.
Armed with three locally-made guns, the gang reportedly executed the abduction on Mrs Odumosu’s house dragging her from her Lexus SUV and taking her through a swampy area to their hideout.
The suspects further revealed that they were hired for the operation by an unidentified man, whose identity remains unknown. “One man gave us the job, but I don’t know his name,” one of them said.
Mrs. Odumosu’s ordeal came to an end during a police operation, which resulted in the death of two gang members. The suspects were paraded by the police and have been taken into custody, while investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the gang and their sponsor.
