Peter Obi Proud Over Tems’ Grammy Win

2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, congratulated music star Tems for winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance in 2025.
Peter Obi’s congratulations came after Tems won the prestigious award for her song, “Love Me JeJe,” outshining other nominees like Burna Boy, Asake, Wizkid, and Yemi Alade.
In a statement on Monday morning, Obi expressed his pride in the achievements of Nigerian youth, particularly in the entertainment sector. He stated, “I am ever elated by the huge success Nigerian youths are making in various fields, especially in the entertainment sector.”
Obi continued by congratulating Tems for her second Grammy win. “I like therefore to extend my hearty congratulations to our Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tems, who just secured her second Grammy Award with her win in the Best African Music Performance category.”
He also praised the wider Nigerian entertainment industry and the other Nigerian artists who were nominated for various awards. “I rejoice with Nigeria’s entertainment industry and other Nigerian artists who were nominated for different awards in their respective categories.”
The former Anambra governor also highlighted Nigeria’s ongoing contribution to the global entertainment scene, emphasizing that the country is home to an abundance of talent. “Undoubtedly, Nigeria remains home to the endless flow of talents who through their creative arts, continue to put the nation on the global map.”
Obi ended his statement with a commitment to fostering growth among Nigerian youth. “I firmly remain committed to building a nation that fosters growth among the youths and helps them discover and harness their individual talents for national productivity.”
