Outrage As Video Of Student’s Exam Malpractice Goes Viral
By Benjamin Abioye

A male student was caught engaging in an unusual form of examination malpractice, sparking widespread reactions.
The student had written answers on the inner part of his clothing and was discreetly flipping through them during an exam when some vigilant lecturers noticed and apprehended him.
In a viral video circulating on the X platform, the student could be seen pleading for leniency after being caught. He attempted to lower his face to avoid identification, but the lecturers reprimanded him and insisted he look up. As of the time of this report, the name of the institution where the incident occurred was unknown.
The video has ignited widespread debate, with social media users expressing mixed reactions. Some condemned the act and called for strict punishment, while others criticized the decision to record and publicly share the footage.
One commenter insisted on severe consequences, stating, “They should expel him! He lacks character and learning!” Another argued that the student’s actions stemmed from laziness, saying, “If he had read that stuff twice or thrice with the time he used to write it on his clothes, there would have been no need for this.”
However, not everyone supported the public exposure of the student. One user strongly opposed the recording, stating, “Who gave them the right to record him? It’s insane—a clear breach of his rights. The best action is to stop him from taking the exam, report him to the malpractice committee, and expose the consequence, not all this nonsense.” Another remarked, “He can actually sue them for recording and publishing him without his consent.”
Some users found humor in the situation, with one commenting, “Never seen this format before, the lecturer must be a very smart one.” Another joked, “Na that biro wey e put for upper pocket de vex me pass.”
Beyond the individual case, some reactions touched on broader concerns about academic integrity. One person noted, “Tomorrow he will become a politician and rule the most brilliant.” Another criticized the misplaced effort, stating, “The time he took to painstakingly write this—if he had used it to study hard, he would have gotten better results.”
As the debate continues, the incident raises questions about how best to handle academic misconduct—whether through strict punishment, reform, or a larger conversation about the education system.
