Dangote Petrol Price

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a price reduction for petrol and diesel, bringing some relief to consumers amid rising energy costs in Nigeria.

The refinery slashed the price of petrol from ₦960 to ₦890 per litre, while diesel now sells at ₦1,020 per litre, down from ₦1,075.

This latest adjustment in petrol price comes as Dangote Refinery continues to ramp up production, positioning itself as a key player in Nigeria’s fuel market. The price cut is expected to ease the burden on businesses and individuals struggling with high transportation and operational costs.

Dangote Refinery’s move could also impact the broader energy sector, influencing market prices and potentially prompting other suppliers to review their rates.

As Nigerians react to the development, many are hopeful that further price reductions will follow, especially as the refinery increases local refining capacity and reduces dependence on fuel imports.

In another development, MultiChoice, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, is set to implement another round of subscription price increases, with the cost of its Compact bouquet rising from ₦15,700 to ₦19,000.

The move to increase subscription prices on the DSTV and GOtv platforms is attributed to the devaluation of the naira and escalating energy costs, challenges that have also impacted businesses in telecommunications, transportation, and consumer goods.

Industry sources indicate that the subscription price adjustment will take effect soon, nearly a year after the last review.
