Luxury Watchdog Calls Out Popular Comedian For Flaunting Fake Hermès Bag
By Gideon Ayeni

Popular Nigerian comedian AY Makun has come under scrutiny after a luxury fashion page accused him of flaunting a counterfeit Hermès bag.
AY recently shared a photo of himself rocking the designer Hermès bag accessory, but T20Luxury, an Instagram page known for analyzing high-end fashion items, pointed out discrepancies, claiming the bag was not authentic.
The page, which frequently highlights fake and genuine luxury pieces, urged AY to avoid promoting counterfeit fashion, emphasizing that celebrities should set an example by supporting originality.
Sharing a side-by-side comparison of AY’s bag and the original Hermès design bag T20Luxury wrote:
“As a key stakeholder in the entertainment industry and a beneficiary of genuine creativity, it is more honorary to refrain from supporting the counterfeit fashion industry. Upholding authenticity is important to preserving our reputation as leaders within the Black community.”
The accusation has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some defending the comedian while others stressed the need for celebrities to verify their luxury purchases before showcasing them.
Meanwhile, GWG.ng reports that Nigerian singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, has set social media abuzz after being spotted at the Redemption Camp, the headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
A viral video shared on TikTok by user @Tammie__114 captured the “Money” hitmaker actively participating in a church program, which RCCG holds every first week of the month at the Redemption camp. Dressed in her signature oversized outfit and hat, Teni was seen dancing and spinning with enthusiasm during the service.
