By Gideon Ayeni

Gunmen disguised in military uniforms have kidnapped the village head of Dnako, HRH Etsu Yuda Garba, along with his two grandchildren and five other residents in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja.
The attack occurred at 12:03 a.m. on Tuesday, with the heavily armed assailants storming the village and targeting multiple homes. Mr. Tanko Baba, a resident, confirmed that the gunmen in military uniform, wielding AK-47 rifles, first raided four houses, abducting five people before proceeding to the traditional ruler’s residence.
The attackers forcibly took the village head and his two sleeping grandchildren, identified as Ephraim and Philemon, amid sporadic gunfire.
Among those kidnapped was a man named Nicholas, who had just returned from the hospital, where his wife had given birth, when he was confronted by the gunmen.
The assailants operated for nearly 30 minutes, firing shots into the air before escaping. Security personnel arrived after the attackers had fled and have since launched a manhunt to track them down.
Though the FCT police command has yet to provide further details as at the time of this report.
Residents of Bwari, which has been plagued by repeated bandit attacks, are calling on FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to take urgent action to improve security in the area.
