Social media has erupted with mixed reactions after the unmarried VeryDarkMan criticized Carter Efe for sharing a video of himself and his daughter, calling the play inappropriate and questioning parenting standards.

A heated debate has erupted online after social media activist, VeryDarkMan, criticized comedian and musician Carter Efe over a video he posted of himself and his daughter.

In the video, Carter Efe engaged in playful moments with his child, but VeryDarkMan found the content inappropriate, sparking controversy across different platforms.

VeryDarkMan, known for his outspoken views, strongly condemned Carter Efe’s actions. “This is why I keep saying that Nigeria needs stricter child protection laws,” he said in his reaction video. “You all watched the video—does that look okay? Your child is touching you in a sensitive area, and you’re making funny noises, then you have the audacity to post it online?”

He further stated that if Nigeria had better child welfare systems, authorities should have stepped in. “If Nigeria was a better country, they would have taken that child from you. You are not mentally stable to raise a child,” he added.

His criticism sparked mixed reactions from social media users. Some agreed with his stance, while others dismissed his concerns as unnecessary outrage.

A user, @Dr_Pharouk, supported VeryDarkMan’s argument, tweeting, “Carter Efe no actually dey alright. Dem suppose don hold am by now.” Similarly, @StackedSam.btc wrote, “Nigerians are fond of treating their children as if they are property, and it has to stop.”

However, many others defended Carter Efe. A user, @Micro_Jewel25, argued, “VDM, it’s his child, his life, his house. Free him, abeg.” Another, @DiceRizzyBoy, questioned VeryDarkMan’s interference, saying, “Oga rest. Wetin concern you? Person dey do wetin go make e baby happy, you dey talk rubbish.”

Some felt VeryDarkMan was overanalyzing the situation, linking his perspective to his personal biases. @powerchibueze tweeted, “Na excessive porn wey VDM dey watch dey make am reason negatively.” Another user, @heskendo, added, “Too much porn don change VDM perspective towards life.”

Others criticized the broader trend of online conflicts shaping public discourse. @aplaceinvegas noted, “This exchange between VeryDarkMan and Carter Efe highlights the growing trend of social media conflicts shaping public discourse. While online debates can be entertaining, they also raise questions about the balance between constructive criticism and unnecessary drama.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Carter Efe has yet to respond publicly to the controversy. However, speculation is rife that he may address the issue in an Instagram Live session. As social media continues to fuel debates on parenting, privacy, and public accountability, this incident remains a talking point among Nigerians.
