Asake respond father song

In a widely circulated video, Asake addressed the situation with his father, not with words but through a song in Yoruba. The lyrics, loosely translated, suggest that one cannot satisfy the world and should only act for God’s sake while remembering the inevitability of death. In another part of the song, he seemingly refers to his father’s plea, saying, “Do you see how it’s going? My dad wants to cajole me, but I stand firm. You cannot quench my fire. I send money with a sincere heart, but when it comes to trouble, I don’t have the mind for that. God moves me forward.”

This response has sparked a wave of reactions from Nigerians on social media. While some criticized Asake for addressing a serious matter with music, others defended him, pointing out that family issues are often more complicated than they appear online.

A Twitter user, @davayking, questioned Asake’s approach, writing, “You dey use song reply to your dad begging you for help? Torrrr.” Similarly, @Updateboyx was unimpressed, saying, “Your papa no be who you dey use ‘ole te aye lorun’ for. Get lost jare.”

However, others were more understanding of the situation. @Nigerians_Angel noted, “Family sagas are deeper than what we see online. Everybody understands this. Make we just face our front.” @LoveSamuel also defended Asake, stating, “He understands how his father treated him, allow him to breathe.”

Some reactions focused on the artistic side of the response. @Kakanfo_ suggested, “Make Asake drop this as a track sharp-sharp. Just add chorus, music don ready.” Meanwhile, @DataRefines remarked, “I don’t understand Yoruba, but one can immediately tell he’s making light of the matter.”

Others called for Asake to take responsibility. @ManLucke_O advised, “Your father did wrong by abandoning you, but you don’t have to forsake him too because two wrongs can never make a right.” Another user, @adeleke, added, “No matter what the man might have done, if he is truly his father, Asake should just help him before it’s too late.”

As the conversation continues, many await a more direct response from Asake beyond the song. Whether he will offer further clarification or take action remains uncertain, but one thing is clear—this family matter has now become a major talking point across Nigeria.
