Abia Police Officer Dismissed

The Abia State Police Command has dismissed Inspector Kufere Moses over allegations of misconduct.

His removal follows an internal disciplinary process that found his actions unacceptable by police standards.

The police spokesperson for the state, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the dismissal in an official statement released on March 20. According to her, Moses, who was attached to Mopol 55 in Aba, had been found guilty of “discreditable conduct and offences against discipline.”

However, the nature of the discreditable conduct was not disclosed.

Chinaka stated that the officer had been stripped of his police uniform, and all official equipment assigned to him had been retrieved. She emphasized that the police force remains committed to upholding professionalism and would not tolerate officers who bring disrepute to the institution.

“The public is hereby notified that AP/NO 338736, Inspector Kufere Moses, formerly serving at Mopol 55 PMF Aba and attached to UBA Bank Guard in Aba, Abia State, has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force, effective 21st February 2025. He has also been de-kitted, and all police accoutrements have been retrieved from him,” the statement read.

She further reiterated the stance of the state police leadership, quoting the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, who reaffirmed the command’s strict approach to dealing with unprofessional conduct.

“The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, reaffirms the Command’s zero tolerance for unprofessional conduct. He assures the public that the Command will not condone the activities of bad elements within the force. Under his leadership, the Command remains committed to the Inspector General of Police’s vision of ensuring a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law-compliant and people-friendly Police force.”

The dismissal of Inspector Moses underscores the force’s ongoing efforts to uphold discipline and restore public trust in law enforcement.
