Akwa Ibom Police Arrest 3 For Stealing Employer’s Electric Cables

Employees Stealing Cables Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested three employees of an electrical company for allegedly stealing electric cable wires.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the suspects were caught following a tip-off received by law enforcement.

“Acting on credible information, the suspects were apprehended while unlawfully removing and concealing electrical wires belonging to the company,” John stated.

The individuals identified as Excellent Victor, Favour Kpenu, and Francis Amos, all male, reportedly admitted to committing the crime during interrogation.

“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their involvement,” John added.

He also confirmed that legal action would follow, saying, “They will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.”

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to maintaining law and order.

He issued a stern warning that criminal activities would not be tolerated under any circumstances in the state.

The police urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities promptly to assist in crime prevention efforts across the state.
