Adeyanju Peller #30DayRants

The #30DayRants challenge started when a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member from Lagos, Ushie Uguamaye, also known as Raye, spoke about the struggles she was facing under President Bola Tinubu’s government. Her video encouraged many Nigerians to open up about their own hardships, leading to a widespread online movement.

However, Peller recently went live on TikTok, asking people to stop using the platform to complain about governance. He expressed concerns that the Nigerian government might ban TikTok if the criticism continued. Peller also said that he depended on the platform for his livelihood and could not afford to lose access to it.

His comments triggered backlash, with many Nigerians calling him “childish and selfish” for trying to silence others.

Adding his voice to the criticism, Adeyanju argued that Peller had no right to tell Nigerians how to express their frustrations. Sharing a picture of Peller and another TikToker on Facebook, Adeyanju wrote: “Who is this boy saying people should not rant on TikTok? Is TikTok your father’s house? Shouldn’t you be in school instead of on TikTok? Are you not too young to be doing TikTok? You have no right whatsoever to tell Nigerians how to express their frustration!”
