The Nigerian Army has officially announced the commencement of its 89 Regular Recruitment Exercise for Trades/Non -Tradesmen and Women, providing an opportunity for eligible Nigerians to join the military.

The Nigerian Army recruitment application process is free of charge and will run from March 1 to May 7, 2025.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to successfully apply for the recruitment:

Step 1: Confirm Your Eligibility

Before applying, ensure you meet the basic entry requirements, which include:
✔️ Being a Nigerian citizen by birth.
✔️ Possessing a National Identity Card (NIN) and BVN.
✔️ Being medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to Nigerian Army standards.
✔️ Having no criminal record or conviction by a court of law.
✔️ Possessing a minimum of 4 passes in WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB, including English.
✔️ Being between 18 and 22 years old for non-tradesmen or 18 and 26 years old for tradesmen by June 30, 2025.
✔️ Meeting the height requirement: Minimum 1.68m for men and 1.65m for women.
✔️ Possessing a valid state of origin certificate.

Step 2: Visit the Official Recruitment Portal

To begin the application process:

  1. Go to the Nigerian Army recruitment website: https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
  2. Create an account with a valid email and phone number.
  3. Fill out the online application form with accurate personal and educational details.
  4. Upload required documents, including:

Educational certificates.

Birth certificate or age declaration.

State of origin certificate.

Passport photograph.

National Identity Number (NIN) and BVN.

  1. Print out your application slip after submission.

Step 3: Prepare for the Recruitment Exercise

After submitting your application, take note of the following:
✅ Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for screening.
✅ Screening will include document verification, medical tests, and physical fitness exercises.
✅ Fake documents will lead to disqualification and possible prosecution.
✅ The final selection will be based on merit and performance in the screening.

Step 4: Attend the Pre-Screening Examination

Shortlisted candidates must report to designated recruitment centers across Nigeria.
