Joel-Onowakpo Thomas: Delta South’s Best Foot For 2027

With the 2027 elections on the horizon, the political temperature is rising—and so is the misinformation. But amid the noise, one truth stands firm: Distinguished Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has proven to be one of the most effective, people-oriented Senators Delta South has ever had.

From Isoko to Ijaw, Itsekiri to Urhobo, his record of service speaks volumes. Through electrification projects in neglected communities, scholarships for struggling students, empowerment of widows and women traders, and skills development for youths, he has addressed the real issues that matter to the people.

Even more commendable is his performance at the National Assembly, where he has sponsored meaningful bills and participated in policy debates that champion the interests of oil-bearing communities, advocate environmental equity, and push for economic opportunities for his constituents.

To attempt to diminish his legacy through accusations of betrayal is not just laughable—it is dishonest. Senator Joel-Onowakpo is not a man of drama; he is a man of duty. He has been consistent in his political journey and loyal to the people who gave him their mandate.

As we prepare for the future, the choice before Delta South is clear: do we go backwards with recycled politics or move forward with a leader who has shown capacity, character, and competence?

Joel-Onowakpo remains Delta South’s best foot forward. Let us not disrupt progress.
