The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations.

This was announced by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on Tuesday through the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated Christians across Nigeria on the joyous occasion of Easter, describing it as a period for deep reflection on the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who gave his life for the redemption of mankind.

He urged Nigerians to take advantage of the holiday period to pray for peace, unity, and stability across the country.

The Minister also reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strong commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to drive national progress and sustainable development.

Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to embrace the true spirit of Easter by showing love, kindness, and goodwill to one another, especially through acts of generosity within their communities.

He concluded by wishing all Christians a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration, while extending warm holiday greetings to Nigerians nationwide.
