PTDF Announces 2025/26 Postgraduate Scholarship Applications

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has announced the commencement of applications for the 2025/2026 Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme.

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has announced the commencement of applications for its 2025/2026 Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme (OSS), inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for fully funded MSc and PhD opportunities.

In a statement issued by the PTDF Management, the Fund emphasized that the OSS is part of its strategic efforts to develop indigenous human capacity for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. The restructured scheme now also promotes capacity building within Nigeria through a new local partnership model.

Under the 2025/2026 cycle, fully funded MSc scholarships will be available in four countries: the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Malaysia. PhD scholarships will be offered in Germany, France, and Malaysia. However, the UK PhD programme has been redesigned as a split-site arrangement in partnership with the PTDF-owned College of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Kaduna (CPESK). This programme will be conducted in collaboration with Robert Gordon University, the University of Strathclyde, and the University of Portsmouth.

The scholarships cover flight tickets, health insurance, tuition fees, bench fees where applicable, and living expenses, ensuring that beneficiaries are fully supported throughout their studies.

The PTDF has urged interested candidates to apply via the official portal—http://scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng—on or before June 4, 2025. Applicants must be Nigerian graduates with a strong academic background and must be pursuing postgraduate degrees in fields relevant to the oil and gas sector.
