Governor Nyesom Wike on Wednesday reciprocated the visit to his residence by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar when he visited the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential candidate in his Abuja Residence.

The visit according to Inside sources was part of the process of building unity in the party following the raucous campaign that preceded the PDP convention last weekend.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the visit came in the wake of increasing speculations that Wike is now among those being considered for the vice-presidential position.

An Atiku associate contacted on the development refused to dabble into the issue.
“I cannot talk on that matter.”

An associate of Wike also contacted by GreenWhiteGreen GWG said that the visit was a return visit by Wike after the earlier visit by Atiku to Wike on Monday.

Sources on the two sides fended off issues on the increasing talk on Wike entering the consideration of the vice-presidential pick.

Before now, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State was known to be the main person being considered for the position with Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State a distant prospect.
The consideration for Okowa according to sources flowed from his cross appeal to the South-South and Southeast geopolitical zones.

Besides, unlike Governors Emmanuel and Wike who mobilised their state delegates to vote for themselves in the presidential primary, Okowa was said to have firmly backed Atiku to the tilt with Delta State delegates’ voting 100% for Atiku.

It was gathered that the meeting with Wike was witnessed by the PDP Vice National Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Osi Orbih and former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke (SAN).
